In memory of Sir Malcolm Williamson

Sir Malcolm Williamson (1939-2023) was the driving force behind Youth Business International (YBI) and its global network for 17 years.

He was the founding Chair of the Board of Trustees, a role he held until 2021, taking YBI from a fledgling project to an independent organization, now present through its network in 50 countries.

Sir Malcolm Williamson brought to YBI his experience in leading global banks and financial institutions and his passion for supporting young people with the skills and opportunities to succeed in life.  He nurtured the organization through its development, championing our work with governments and corporations alike and engaging directly with our members and young entrepreneurs at YBI’s Global Summits.

Sir Malcolm was our friend, supporter, and advocate for young entrepreneurs globally. The more than 750,000 young people trained throughout the network and the 250,000 youth-led businesses started or scaled are his lasting legacy.
