Programme overview
Entrepreneurship offers a vital pathway to economic independence, social integration and long-term stability. Yet entrepreneurs often lack the financial knowledge and skills needed to grow and scale their businesses.
Under a new initiative, supported by Visa Europe, Youth Business International (YBI) aims to reach 1,000 young entrepreneurs with financial information that builds their financial skills and knowledge. The programme will also upskill an additional 60 young entrepreneurs to understand their current financial situation, their needs and their plans to access finance, to better enable their business growth more comprehensively.
Programme structure
The programme will feature a downloadable resource alongside the in-depth training to ensure as wide a range of young entrepreneurs as possible are able to access support to improve their financial knowledge.
The FINESSE Playbook
YBI is publishing a digital playbook curating the most impactful and relevant content from YBI’s Financial Strategy curriculum alongside additional bespoke financial content, resources and assets from Visa Europe.
The FINESSE Playbook is a strategic guide for early-stage and growth-stage young entrepreneurs who want to raise capital more effectively. It condenses the Financing Strategy course resources into a visually engaging, practical PDF that introduces key concepts like milestone-driven growth, funding gaps, right-fit capital, and capital stacking.

FINESSE training
Delivered through YBI’s EYE Academy and using its specially designed Financing Strategy curriculum, at least 60 young (18-35) entrepreneurs whose business is in the growth stage will receive bespoke training to:
- understand their current financial scenario
- assess current and future financing needs
- navigate available financing options
- put in place an actionable plan to access finance now and in the future
