Youth Business International (YBI) invites Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) within the YBI network to participate in an exclusive Decent Work training led by Beatrice Maneshi, founder of Catalystas Consulting. Beatrice is an expert in entrepreneurship, decent labour standards, finance, startup incubation, and business support, with years of experience helping businesses thrive through sustainable practices. 

What will you gain from the training? 

In this training, ESOs will learn how to integrate the principles of Decent Work into the businesses they support. Participants will explore topics such as safe workspaces, competitive wages, working hours, social security, and fostering inclusive and fair work environments. These principles are crucial for building responsible businesses that prioritize employee well-being and long-term sustainability. 

Who is this training for? 

The training is designed to provide ESOs with practical tools and actionable strategies to help entrepreneurs create ethical and productive work environments. By participating, ESOs will gain insights into how Decent Work practices can enhance business operations, improve productivity, and ultimately support the success of entrepreneurs within their networks. 

This is an excellent opportunity for ESOs to strengthen their support for entrepreneurs and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem. 

What is the training format? 

The training consists of four live sessions facilitated by Beatrice Maneshi, founder of Catalystas Consulting, supported digital resources and quizzes which ESOs will be required to complete between each live session. 

Session 1 – Wednesday 5th March 2025 @ 12 pm – 1.30 pm GMT 

This session will kick off with an introduction to the training, including an overview of the course structure and interactive discussions to understand the participants’ expectations. The session will also cover the foundational principles of Decent Work, offering insights into how these can be applied in various business contexts. 

Session 2 – Wednesday 12th March 2025 @12 pm – 1.30 pm GMT 

This session will allow participants to review key topics covered in the first three modules. Through group discussions and case studies, participants will explore how applying Decent Work principles can enhance profitability and sustainability in businesses, particularly MSMEs and solopreneurs. 

Session 3 – Wednesday 19th March 2025 @12 pm – 1.30 pm GMT 

This session will delve into the practical implementation of Decent Work standards regarding working hours, labour rights, and social security. Interactive workshops and small group discussions will encourage participants to think creatively about overcoming the challenges they face while implementing these practices in their businesses. 

Session 4 – Wednesday 26th March 2025 @ 12 pm – 1.30 pm GMT 

The final session will focus on reinforcing the key principles of Decent Work, emphasizing anti-discrimination practices, the importance of social dialogue, and the long-term commitment to Decent Work. Participants will share their takeaways from the training and discuss how they plan to integrate these practices into their businesses.
