Indigenous Inclusion in Programme Development

Overview

This one-hour session will review the assessment and needs predictor of creating the Ohpikiwin series: Journey to financial empowerment, a one-of-a-kind Indigenous-focused financial literacy program offered by Futurpreneur to Indigenous young entrepreneurs in Canada. This session will be a facilitated fire-side chat discussion between the Director of the Indigenous Entrepreneurship Startup Program and the CEO of Salishan Solutions, an Indigenous-led consulting firm.

Before the initial creation of the Ohpikiwin series, Futurpreneur engaged in meaningful consultation and collaboration with Indigenous community members to ensure the program was representative of Indigenous voices, realities, and diversity. Futurpreneur and Salishan Solutions will outline the importance of meaningful Indigenous inclusion when building programming or resources intended for Indigenous audiences, as well as discuss initial effective plans and approaches for stakeholders who intend to create resources for Indigenous markets.
