Supporting Black young entrepreneurs: lessons from the field

Overview

October is YBI’s Inclusivity Month, and is also Black History Month in Ireland and the UK.

To celebrate the power and innovation of Black entrepreneurs, YBI is hosting a panel discussion with Futurepreneur (Canada), Aliança Empreendedora (Brazil) and Hatch Enterprise (UK), who have large experience and specific tailored programmes focused on Black founders. They will discuss some of the advantages and barriers that Black entrepreneurs face when starting and running a business, and how ESO’s can better include and support them in their programmes.

We will also be joined by Samantha Kidjo, a Black woman immigrant in the UK, who founded ICI CARE. She is a dedicated chemist and plant enthusiast deeply committed to sustainable beauty, who will bring to the panel her experience in weathering the ups and downs of business.
