About Jinishian Memorial Foundation

Jinishian Memorial Foundation (JMF) began work in Armenia in 1993 and became legally registered in Armenia as a local foundation in 1999.

Since its establishment, JMF has played a vital role in raising the profile of entrepreneurship in Armenia, generating support for new initiatives and securing affordable funding for business start-up and expansion. For over 10 years JMF has been implementing micro lending support projects supporting over 2500 farming businesses and SMEs in different regions of Armenia to improve their households’ economic state through technical support and low-interest agricultural and business borrowings.

Since 2014, JMF extended its activities reaching young entrepreneurs in two regions of Armenia. During the last two years, within the framework of the pilot JMF supported 43 entrepreneurs who participated in entrepreneurship development training programs and were provided with very low-interest loans with up to 5 years repayment schedule.

Today, Armenia has overcome the major crisis and has taken the path of rapid development and these tendencies are reflected in JMF’s programs. Thus, since 2002 JMF has shifted to sustainable development projects to make a lasting impact in the areas of health, education, civil society, community, and economic development.

JMF is a new member of YBI, having joined in April 2018.
