About Bangladesh Youth Enterprise Advice and Helpcentre (BYEAH)

BYEAH is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2007 with the aim of empowering young Bangladeshis who want to start their own business and realise their dream of becoming successful entrepreneurs.

BYEAH works with young people aged 18-35, who would like to start or grow their own business, but lack the education or experience needed. They provide training, access to finance, voluntary mentoring and other business development services.

It aspires to build a strong community of young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh to facilitate the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME’s), promote awareness of mentoring, improve young people’s socio- economic prospects and tackle youth unemployment and poverty.

In Bangladesh, there is a serious shortage of paid employment opportunities for the million or more new job seekers entering the market each year. More so, there is also a lack of entrepreneurial culture stemming from the limited access to loans offered outside of the micro-finance sector.
