The Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), a non-profit organisation, was set up in 1992 primarily to help disadvantaged young people in India to develop business ideas into viable enterprises with the guidance and support of a mentor. For over 20 years BYST has helped young people in Delhi, Rural Haryana, Chennai, Rural Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Rural Maharashtra and Assam.
BYST is targeting a more accelerated growth rate, benchmarking itself against number of jobs generated as well as number of ventures created. BYST is a longstanding member of the YBI network and has valued from this partnership through capacity development and learning exchanges with other members. In 2018, it worked with YBI on the development of a webinar-based member training programme thus reaching out to new YBI members in Asia to support them in setting up their programmes and also offering interim training.
