Barcelona hosts a workshop for the Young Entrepreneurs Succeed programme

Autoocupació, project partner and sub-member of YBI’s member Youth Business Spain, recently organised the third Young Entrepreneurs Succeed programme workshop in Barcelona.

Young Entrepreneurs Succeed (YES!) is a trust-based partnership engaging eight public and private institutions from Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom with wide experience promoting entrepreneurship among underserved youth.

For two days, the eight partners of the YES!  programme, funded by EEA Grants and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment, met in Barcelona, with the aim of sharing knowledge and improving the implementation of the programme.

During the meeting, the partners defined the routes that will be followed by the beneficiaries and their respective objectives. It is expected that 1,600 NEETs (youth Not in Education, Employment or Training) from Greece, Poland, Italy and Spain will be provided with training, coaching, access to finance and mentoring services to start and grow their own business or find a job.

Autoocupació (Catalonia), Anka (Greece), Microfinanza (Italy) and Youth Business Poland presented their own implementation models. By doing so, through the discussion of the proposals, the partners will optimise the implementation and improve their impact.

The project partners set indicators to analyse the needs of the young entrepreneurs in vulnerable situations and gaps in the provision, design and implementation of financial and non-financial services. In addition, the partners established indicators to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of the methodology and the areas to be implemented by the YES! programme.

Different best practices were presented to be applied during the implementation, among them, Youth Business International’s mentoring programme, placing value on the roles of the mentor and the entrepreneur in a mentoring relationship.

Looking forward, Youth Business Poland will be hosting the fourth meeting for project partners in Warsaw in November 2019.

Jo Gray, Director of Programme Delivery at Youth Business International, said:

“The collaborative workshop in Barcelona allowed the partners to understand more about the various implementation plans for their programmes and to share learnings to support each other with these. We have established a strong impact framework to both drive and measure success and ultimately to ensure the programme reaches underserved young entrepreneurs.”
