YBI to launch report on ‘Entrepreneurial soft skills for the future’

We are pleased to announce the launch of our flagship report Entrepreneurial soft skills for the future, exploring critical skills young entrepreneurs need to thrive now and in the future.

The world of work is changing rapidly, and so the skills young entrepreneurs need are also changing. Young people need not just ‘hard’, business and digital skills, and sector specific technical knowledge, but also ‘soft’ skills that shape how they interact with others and achieve their goals.

Drawing on an extensive literature review and interviews with YBI members and external experts, the report explores key trends and outlines the new and amplified soft skills young entrepreneurs need to navigate them. It also shares emerging learning and good practice on developing and assessing these skills.

YBI will draw on the insights in this report to test, refine and scale our new soft skills training provision. We hope the report makes a useful contribution to sector learning and, in doing so, helps equip many more underserved young people around the world with the skills they need for entrepreneurial success.

Supported by Accenture, this report was commissioned by Youth Business International and prepared by Branka Minic, founder of Future Work Consulting.
