YCAB Foundation, based in Indonesia, took part in the Google.org’s Rapid Response Programme in 2020 to build the resiliency of women micropreneurs during the pandemic through an innovative digital-based approach. Following this, YCAB Foundation then joined us to implement the Futuremakers initiative by Standard Chartered Foundation in 2021 to support young entrepreneurs to, once again, counter the effects of the pandemic through a holistic economic empowerment programme. YCAB Foundation is the founding and flagship organisation in YCAB Social Enterprise Group. YCAB Foundation aims to vitalise underprivileged youths to become self-reliant throught economic empowerment and education, bringing them from subsistence to sustainable livelihood. YCAB Foundation’s vision is to “build a thriving world where youth and mothers are empowered through love, hope, and the opportunity to be liberated from generational poverty in sustainable ways.” Check out YCAB Foundation’s inspiring work here.
YAB, based in Botswana joins us after being chosen as an implementing partner for a COVID-19 recovery programme during 2021 which was funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation as part of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered. YAB is affiliated to Young Africa International. YAB provides innovative, high impact solutions to youth employment. Under the slogan, Developing Talent and Ambition, YAB works for the youth by the youth, aiming to develop the potential and energy of young people to create employment, innovative business and lead community. YAB believes that young people are not only perfectly capable of leading, but that they are also the ones who are able and needed to make the necessary shift towards a sustainable growth and development of the continent. We look forward to working with YAB to meet this goal. You can find out more about YAB on their website.
JeCCDO, based in Ethiopia, are well established and share YBI’s vision in terms of social and climate work. They are starting to engage more with their entrepreneur offer- their key values are centred around inclusiveness and entrepreneurial spirit. In a search to expand YBI’s global reach in African countries, JeCCDO, with the strategic goals of building social businesses as sustainable business models and strengthening entrepreneurial capacity in the country, was found to be a perfect addition to our network. JeCCDO wanted to explore the opportunity of joining a global network to help improve the quality of their services they provide to make their efforts more sustainable. They hope to connect with experienced members who are willing to share their knowledge and practices: “the network will be a hub for learning and innovation in youth support.” Find out more about JeCCDO’s work on their website. We are thrilled that our two new members, YAB and JeCCDO, brings our African member count to 11!
Our network looks forward to working with YAB, YCAB and JeCCDO in 2022, to support entrepreneurs globally to thrive. Explore our global network here.
